Vow to the Wild
By Lila Sterling
This piece began with a single long-blooming flower, rich in nectar and beloved by pollinators. Through layers of soft and vibrant watercolor, the flower unfurls in a swirling dance—part blossom, part spirit. It appears to cast off what no longer belongs, petals like fragments of an old self falling behind. This is a portrait of release, of quiet power, of the soul’s messy and radiant path toward freedom. It is both surrender and flight—an offering back to the wild.
